Lifelong Dental Care a Present-Day Expectation

Finding an LTC Dentist |
The BCDA maintains a current roster of dentists who are interested in LTC dentistry. If you wish to obtain the names of dentists in your area to discuss the oral health requirements of your residents and the possibility of providing services on-site, contact the BC Dental Association.

Studies show as the senior segment of the population increases, the number of elders who retain their natural teeth is also increasing. Innovative solutions are needed for geriatric dentistry. Many eventually will require residential care and the BC Dental Association has developed initiatives to assist with the unique issues of providing dentistry in long-term care (LTC) facilities.
Dental Equipment for LTC Facilities
Facility-based dental programs provide a service for residents unable to receive treatment in private practice. However, the cost of setting up dental facilities in residential care can be a barrier. To help reduce expenses, the BC Dental Association maintains a list of equipment donated by member dentists for use in LTC facilities as well as a list of equipment that dentists working in LTC facilities are currently seeking.
For enquiries about the listed equipment or to make a request for a specific item, please contact:
